Prairie Blazing Star ( Liatris pycnostachya )
This striking flower is a part of many prairies and used in many personal prairie beds.
Instead of solely focusing on a couple blooms, our work will show how it is part of a larger scene showing there is a prairie of more flowers behind it.
So we have the challenge of making some flowers feel further away and some feeling closer. We’ll talk through the technique and why to achieve such things.
We’ll even use some of the negative painting in the grasses to help ‘pop’ the flowers.
