Class 3: Irises – Wet for Soft & Dry for Sharp

Another one of our amazing perennial plants, the iris.

I’ve always been fascinated by this flower that it has these giant petals that curve upwards and 3 even larger petals that fall below in a lovely curve.

For this lesson, I am focusing on the larger bloom that has these delicate, soft ruffles on all the petal edges.

Wet-on-wet effects will suit the softness of the petals and add some drybrush for the structure within the petals.
